Here in the campaign journal I'll recap the sessions that my D&D group plays to give a feel for the kinds of stories I like to tell in my games. The players have named their party the Revengers. Avé is a wood elf druid, Elaina is an eladrin fighter/druid multiclass, Libi is a human cleric, Diana is a tiefling divine sorcerer, and Lyall is a human ranger.

The story takes place in the homebrew world I created called Kyrael (I'll do a more detailed overview of the world at a later date). We've been playing for about a year now and we just played our 25th session last night. The Revengers have been on many adventures over those sessions. They've made allies, lost friends, saved villages, and delved through dungeons. Currently the human kingdom known as the Khalum Empire is on the brink of a war erupting between them and Oramar, the dwarven nation. Meanwhile, an eladrin named Castor Morgraine is attempting to become a god by slaughtering the followers of other gods in an attempt to weaken them and by amassing followers of his own. In order to stop him the Revengers have been tracking down a few extremely powerful, extremely old magic items known as the Relics of the Ancients.

Last session the Revengers met Lyall, the human ranger. Lyall decided the Revengers could aid him in completing his own goals, and thus agreed to accompany them on their journey. Libi, the cleric, scryed on Castor (or the Pale Man as he is otherwise known) in an attempt to learn more about him. Libi's temple back home was destroyed by Castor. Diana the sorcerer, Libi's best friend, also has a mysterious connection to the Pale Man that Libi has been trying to get to the bottom of.

After learning that Libi had contacted the Pale Man, Diana snuck out in the middle of the night to head to the docks and leave the Revengers. She left a note for Libi to find, detailing her goodbye. She believed it too dangerous for her to stay if she was attracting the attention of the Pale Man. In the morning Libi read the note and set off chasing after her in an attempt to stop her from leaving. Diana met Captain Wyatt, captain of the Wave Crasher, who agreed to let her join his crew if she agreed to help out with his injured. The rest of the Revengers made it to the docks just as the Wave Crasher was about to make its way out to sea and convinced Diana to leave Wyatt’s crew and join them again. The Revengers made their way back to the Dancing Dragon discussing their plans. Libi was contacted by Castor Morgraine in the night via the sending spell. The Pale Man offered Libi the chance to meet Anitatus, the god he worshipped, in exchange for Diana. In the morning Libi scryed on Castor, learning that he had taken over Seaworth and amassed an army. The Revengers decided that it might be better to head straight for the Nine Eyes of Theldurails in the Exiled Lands to power up before facing Castor again. Laurelei joined them on their mission instead of going to Oramar to negotiate with King Dalen, instead sending some of the other high ranking diplomats from the Khalum Empire in her place. The party teleported to Echo Hill Spire to ask Gnimo to teleport them to the Exiled Lands where they met Gnimo’s new friend, a sentient metal man named Scribe. Gnimo attempted to teleport them to where they needed to go, but experienced some difficulties with the spell. Instead of arriving on the coast of the Exiled Lands, the party landed in a vast snowy cave system where they were attacked by a frost giant and the three winter wolves it called its pets. After defeating the enemies the party decided to rest within the cave to regain their strength. The night was long and cold, but they awoke ready to figure out what to do next.
