Campaign Journal #2

We played another super fun session last night and it was quite eventful! Also, we recorded the session! It'll be the first episode of our live play D&D podcast that will be uploaded within the next week. While this is our second campaign journal and first podcast episode, it's the 26th session we've played in the campaign, so there's a lot to catch up on! Soon I'm going to post a "Revengers Recap" detailing the story so far and a "Comprehensive Guide to Kyrael" that will have information on the homebrew world we play in and a photo of the map to check out so you can see where all of these shenanigans are taking place.

Anyway, on with the journal!

The Revengers awoke in the ice caves that Gnimo had teleported them into and Lyall’s knowledge of the mountains and lore led him to believe the party had been teleported to Aldor’s Pass, the only way to cross from Iobrias into the Exiled Lands via land. The party debated teleporting back to Gnimo and having him try to teleport him again, but ultimately decided against it realizing that they were already pretty close to making it out. They began traversing Aldor’s Pass, eventually coming upon the lair of an adult white dragon. The Revengers battled the dragon, defeating it and its white orc lackeys and looted it’s lair coming away with dimensional shackles, a potion of gaseous form, an immovable rod, a folding boat, a pot of Nolzur’s marvelous pigments, and a bunch of gold. They exited the lair and made their way down the mountain, camping in a tent that Diana made out of her new magic paint. In the night while on watch, Avé caught a tortle attempting to sneak into the tent. She confronted him and he informed her he was simply looking for food. He introduced himself as Q’uarth and explained that he was making his way to Lanteglos. Avé noticed that his tongue was quite abnormal, resembling a squid’s tentacle, suction cups and all. Avé explained that the Revengers were headed that way as well and offered to let him travel with them. He agreed and the party used Lyall’s new folding boat to sail across the bay to Lanteglos. Q’uarth, being extremely familiar with the sea, trained each of the Revengers in a position aboard the boat, Libi taking to the sea extremely well. When they arrived at Lanteglos they found it to be a lawless place, a city that was once the home of the gods now defiled and overrun by criminals. Q’uarth introduced the Revengers to his friend Bharnir who Q’uarth said was the most knowledgeable man he knew. Bharnir, a triton, informed the Revengers that he knew the location of the Sunken Lab of Theldurails, but if he was going to share the information with them, they would need to prove themselves. To do this, he tasked them with competing in The Slay Ring, a fighting arena in the city. Avé and Libi had reservations and discussed a plan to organize a rebellion against the brutal tradition. The Revengers were pitted against another party of fighters known as The Gauntlet. It was a tough fight, but the Revengers came out victorious. When they won, Avé delivered a powerful speech with Libi’s help adding numerous visual effects to the spell. Elaina and Diana were against Avé and Libi’s plan, urging them to leave well enough alone, but Avé and Libi persisted anyway, seeming to even win over a good size portion of the crowd.

And that's where we ended for the night! It was a ton of fun to play and we're super excited to get the podcast up and running as well. Until next time, Dungeon On!
