Iobrias, Land of Heroes

The world of Kyrael is large. Like any world, it has a large variety of locations, people, and cultures. The largest continent, and the one on which the Revengers' adventures started, is known as Iobrias.

Iobrias is home to three unique governments. The first is the Khalum Empire, commonly known as the human kingdom. The Khalum Empire has been ruled by the Wren family for the past few centuries and is currently ruled by King Lionel Wren. The Empire's capital is Dornach Firth, a massive port city in the northeast of Iobrias.

The next government is Oramar, the Dwarven kingdom. Oramar holds the southernmost region on Iobrias, the Thordor Valley named after its ruling clan. Ages ago the dwarves settled the Thordor Valley and have resided there ever since. They have the least amount of land so they've made their way into the mountains and under the ground, as well as across a small strait of water to the island of Hammer's Head. Due to their small claim of land and slightly deranged king, King Dalen Thor, Oramar is waging war on the Khalum Empire. Oramar assassinated the prior king of the Khalum Empire, Brenin Wren, leaving Lionel to take over the rulership at only 22 years old.

The third nation on Iobrias, and the most ancient one, is the Elven Court, ruled by Queen Gwyndoline Emerstone. The Elven Court resides in the Evereach Forest and has a friendly relationship with both Oramar and the Khalum Empire. They're attempting to stay out of the conflict, not only because they consider both nations an ally, but also because they're busy recovering from an attack by the demon lord Naraxas which poisoned the Evereach and destroyed many of their cities. Thanks to the Revengers, Naraxas' corruption has been pushed back, but the wounds are still fresh.

Dullmire Bog is a large swamp in the southwest area of Iobrias. The swamp is inhabited by a number creatures including lizardfolk, tortles, and spirit-touched gnomes. The civilizations in the Bog remain unaligned and have for centuries. The villages there have their own culture and customs revolving around spirits and the undead that the other nations on Iobrias can't justify aligning themselves with.

The Exiled Lands in the northwest region of Iobrias are separated from the mainland by a range of mountains known as the Divide. The only way to the Exiled Lands without sailing is through Aldor's Pass, a treacherous mountain pass that few travellers wish to trek. The Exiled Lands are a vast frozen tundra littered with ruins and pockmarked by scars of histories and battles long past. The city of Lanteglos was once inhabited by the gods themselves when they resided on the material plane. After the departure of the gods during the Exodus, Lanteglos was left abandoned, but was soon taken over by criminals and pirates. Avé is currently trying to establish some sort of government in the lawless city with the help of King Lionel and the Khalum Empire.

Iobrias is a land with many cultures and a storied past. It's rich history and deep rooted mana veins make it the perfect place for aspiring adventurers to venture forth, make a name for themselves, and be heroes.
